About Rued Winery
The Rued Family’s roots go deep into the soils of Sonoma County. The family first planted grapes in the Russian River Valley of Sonoma County in the early 1880’s. This was the beginning of our rich agriculture heritage. With the advent of prohibition the family branched out and farmed apples, pears, and prunes along with beef and dairy cows.
In the early 1970’s the family came full circle and started planting grapes again in the Dry Creek Valley and then in Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley.
There are now 6 generations of us. The youngest generation has a ways to go before they begin their journey—They are the hope and promise of our future.
Come visit us and meet our family-Richard and Dee proprietors, Tom our vineyard guy and Steve and Sonia –our winemakers. We are truly a “Family Winery”.
